2-Person Infrared Saunas for Your Home
A 2-person infrared sauna is the practical middle ground for most homes — enough room to stretch out or sit alongside a partner, without the footprint or electrical demands of a larger cabin. Most models on this page run on a standard 120V outlet, so there is no electrician bill before your first session.
Infrared heat works differently from a traditional sauna. Instead of heating the air to 180°F and above, carbon or ceramic emitters warm your body directly at around 120–140°F. You still sweat properly, but the air stays easy to breathe — which is why people who find traditional saunas too intense usually get on better with infrared.
What to look for
- Low-EMF carbon panels — more even heat than ceramic rods, with lower electromagnetic output.
- Canadian hemlock or cedar — hemlock is nearly odorless, cedar is naturally rot-resistant and aromatic.
- Interior dimensions, not exterior — bench depth matters more than the cabin's outside footprint.
- 120V vs 240V — most 2-person units plug into a standard household outlet; confirm on the product page before you buy.
Frequently asked questions
Do 2-person infrared saunas need special wiring?
Most do not. The majority of 2-person models run on a standard 120V household outlet on a dedicated 15- or 20-amp circuit. The spec sheet on each product page confirms the requirement.
How long do they take to heat up?
Typically 10–15 minutes to reach operating temperature — considerably faster than a traditional sauna, which can take 30–45 minutes.
Can two adults sit comfortably?
Yes, though "2-person" is a seating rating rather than a lounging rating. If you want room to lie down, look at our 3-person models.
