5-Person Saunas
Five-person sits between the family cabin and the full gathering room. It suits households that regularly have one or two extra people in the sauna — adult children, neighbours, a training partner — without stepping up to the heater output and foundation work a six or eight-person cabin demands.
What you get at this size
- Two-tier benches in most models, giving a real temperature choice between upper and lower.
- Room to lie down for two while others sit — the practical benefit over a four-person cabin.
- 7–8kW heater on a dedicated 240V circuit. Still within normal residential electrical work.
Format choices
Hybrid models are unusually well represented at five-person, which suits mixed households — gentle infrared for a solo weeknight session, full traditional heat when everyone is in. Traditional cabins and larger barrels also cover this capacity.
Our 5-person range runs about $7,000 to $75,000 across Golden Designs, Harvia, Kohler and Costway.
Common questions
Is five-person really different from four?
Mainly in bench length and heater size. If you regularly have five people in at once, the difference is real; if it is occasional, a four-person cabin with deep benches often works out better value.
How long to heat?
35–50 minutes for a traditional cabin this size. Worth running on a timer.
Indoor or outdoor?
Both exist. Indoors you need the ceiling height and ventilation; outdoors you need a proper base and a 240V run to the cabin.
