6-Person Cabin Saunas

A 6-person cabin sauna is the largest standalone outdoor building we carry, and the format that makes the most sense at this capacity. Straight walls mean two-tier benches along more than one side, full headroom throughout, and space for a changing porch that actually gets used in winter.

Planning the build

  • Foundation — a level concrete pad or a deck engineered for the load. This is a building, not a garden shed.
  • Heater — 8–9kW electric on a dedicated 240V circuit sized by an electrician, or wood-fired if the site has no service.
  • Ventilation — intake low near the heater, exhaust high on the opposite side. Six people produce real moisture.
  • Delivery — multiple pallets by LTL freight, curbside. Plan how components get to the site before the truck arrives.
  • Setbacks — check property line rules, and keep flues clear of branches on wood-fired models.

What the extra size buys you

Beyond headcount: a proper upper bench that runs meaningfully hotter, room to lie flat while others sit, and enough thermal mass that the room holds temperature when the door opens. Small cabins lose their heat every time someone comes or goes.

Common questions

How long to heat?

45–60 minutes. A timer or WiFi controller is genuinely worth having at this size.

What does it cost to run?

An 8–9kW heater a few times a week typically adds $25–$40 a month depending on your electricity rate.

Is assembly a DIY job?

The structure, largely yes with two people and a couple of days. The electrical work should not be.
