SaunaLife Saunas & Cold Plunges
SaunaLife builds outdoor sauna cabins, barrels and cold plunge tubs designed to live outside all year. Their CUBE and barrel series are among the most recognisable backyard saunas on the market, and the range extends to accessories, lighting and cold therapy — 85 products here from about $40 to $27,000.
The ranges
CUBE series — modern square cabins with large glass fronts, thermo-treated spruce, and a look that suits contemporary houses. The CL and G models differ mainly in glazing and size.
Barrels — the classic round format in cedar and thermo-spruce, heating faster than a square cabin of the same capacity.
Cold plunge tubs — insulated barrels and tubs for contrast therapy, which is what most sauna owners add next.
Accessories and lighting — bench lighting, controls, buckets and covers built to match the cabins.
What sets them apart
Thermo-treated timber is the core of it. Heat treatment stabilises the wood so it moves less through freeze-thaw cycles, which is the main reason outdoor saunas fail early. Combined with proper roofing, it is what lets a SaunaLife cabin sit outside in a northern winter without drama.
Common questions
Do these need a foundation?
Level, draining ground rather than a poured foundation for most models — gravel pad, patio slabs or a rated deck. Larger cabins want concrete.
How long is assembly?
Two people, one to two days for most kits. Electrical work should be done by an electrician.
Can I add a cold plunge later?
Yes, and most people do. The tubs are standalone, so there is nothing to plan for at the sauna build stage.
